We often encourage and facilitate youth getting involved in the community outside of the BYC. We often participate and help set up and tear down for community events, clean up local parks, and have youth help with around the centre with general maintenance.
Helping Hands Program
Community members can contact the BYC and we will work with the youth to get small/odd (youth appropriate) job completed! We have been successful in having youth cut grass, weed flower beds, shovel snow, and rake leaves. This is done free of charge (donations welcome) and high school youth can accumulate hours required or graduation and for use on their resumes.
