About Blenheim Youth Centre

The BYC was founded in 2006 by a local police officer who drew together a group of concerned citizens. They knew that Blenheim was a small community with few afterschool programs available to our youth, and clearly had a need for a youth centre which would serve to reduce negative street activity and provide an opportunity to nurture a sense of pride of community in the young people of Blenheim. So they began to take action.

In May 2007 the doors at 78 Marlborough St. opened for regular programming. There is no fee to become a member of the BYC, just fill out an application for membership, and agree to the rules and regulations in place at the centre. We now have over 1050 registered youth members, with and average of 25 youth daily.

Emily Robert – Executive Director

Born and raised in Blenheim, Emily has been involved with the BYC since 2011. Starting off as volunteer and Board Member she was hired in a Recreation role in 2012. Since then, she has worked to move the organization forward and build its capacity in the Executive Director role for the past 10 years. She is a graduate of the Recreation & Leisure Services program at Fanshawe College and the Chemical Dependency Counselling certificate program at St. Clair College. You can usually find her at her desk forming partnerships with other youth agencies, researching new policy that will advocate for youth or planning an event (or two).

Evan Hall – Program Coordinator

Evan is a local born and raised Blenheim kid. He joined our team May 2022 and is the Program Coordinator. He is currently attending the University of Windsor for Social Work and hopes to get into counselling teenagers or mental health and addiction. Evan is a big sports guy who loves the Detroit Tigers and Redwings and is always playing basketball, volleyball, and pool with the kids. You can find Evan out in the community at Willow Ridge Golf Course or at the Blenheim Arena.
