The BYC heavily relies on fundraising efforts of the Board of Directors and Staff with help from volunteers, community organizations and BYC members come together to host our annual fundraisers. Each of these fundraisers assists with the daily operation of the centre and helps us provide the youth of Blenheim and surrounding areas with supplies to ensure quality programing.
Downtown Blenheim
Blenheim is well known for their annual Cherry Fest activities in the downtown core. In 2012 the BIA approached the Blenheim youth Centre to take over the Cherry Central during the event.
Over 3 days of Cherry Fest the BYC Cherry Central tent offers everything cherry! Cherry pop, cherry pies – made by our youth and staff!, cherry cole slaw, fresh and delicious cherry waffle boats, fresh cherries, corn on the cob and cherry kettle corn and cherry glazed pulled pork.
2024 Event July 18th, 19th and 20th.
Memorial Park Blenheim
People will be voted off, alliances will be formed, challenges will be met – but more importantly money will be raised for the youth in Blenheim. Competitors participate in a number of challenges (some for reward and some resulting in elimination) within a 24 hour time period. The last person remaining is named the ‘Sole Survivor’ and is awarded a top prize. There are also prizes for the top fundraisers.
This challenge can raise between $25,000 – $60,000 for the BYC annually
Not only is this event fun for the contestants, but it is also a FREE event for the WHOLE community. There are many activities for kids, food booths and music for the whole family and community to take part in!
